Can steel profiles be created as separate components, or do they have to be integrated into an overall assembly?

Last updated July 2, 2026

Short Answer

Both options are possible. You can create steel profiles as separate components or integrate them into an overall assembly – what matters is what comes from the CAD model.

How It Works in vyzn

If the steel profiles were exported separately from CAD, you can assign them to a specific component in the configuration screen. You can discard the associated model elements there if needed.

The prerequisite is that the profiles exist in the CAD model in the first place: vyzn can only work with the elements included in the export.

Frequently Asked Questions

The steel profiles are missing from the CAD export – can I add them in vyzn afterwards?

No. If the profiles are missing from the export, they cannot be added later as separate elements in vyzn. Add them in CAD first and then re-export the model.
