How do I export data as CSV?

Last updated July 2, 2026

Short Answer

Yes, you can download your data directly as CSV in several places – where exactly depends on which data you need: component and model data, quantities according to eBKP-H, life cycle assessment reports or the component catalogue. There is deliberately no single "export everything as CSV" button – the export always sits where the data is created.

When to Use This

Whenever you want to process an evaluation outside of vyzn, for example in another tool or in your own template.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Depending on which data you want to export, go to the corresponding view:

  • Component and model data: In the data table of your model version, the download icon (arrow pointing down) exports the currently displayed table as a CSV file – including your applied filters and the active sorting. The file is named after the version name.
  • Quantities according to eBKP-H: In the "area and quantity determination according to eBKP-H", the export gives you a quantity extract as CSV with the columns SCHLÜSSEL (key), MENGE (quantity) and EINHEIT (unit). Beforehand, you confirm in a short dialog that you have the necessary rights and licences to export the copyright-protected eBKP-H 2020 structure and use it locally.
  • Life cycle assessment reports: In the life cycle assessment view, "Download report" opens a menu with two CSV formats: "according to GHG Protocol (.csv)" and "according to Minergie, Net Zero (.csv)". A PDF report is also available there.
  • Component catalogue: In the catalogue view, the selected catalogue structure can also be exported – either as CSV or as JSON.

Expected Result

You receive a CSV file with the data of the respective view. The first three exports (model data, eBKP-H quantities, life cycle assessment reports) use the semicolon as separator, which opens cleanly in a German-language Excel. The catalogue export uses a different format.

Common Mistakes

  • Looking for a central export button: There is deliberately no single "export everything as CSV" button. Instead, go directly to the view where the data you need is created.
  • Overlooking filters and sorting: When exporting the data table, exactly the currently displayed table is exported – including applied filters and active sorting. Before downloading, check that the view shows what you need.
