Growing the team: Welcome, Valeria

At vyzn, we continue to grow – and we're glad to welcome Valeria to the team.
Valeria Piccioni joins us as Building Performance Engineer. She works on our client deliveries: simulations, performance analyses and the reports our clients base their decisions on.
Valeria is an architect by training and spent six years at ETH Zürich, first as a PhD researcher and then as a postdoc, working on building performance, simulation and new facade technologies.
As with all our new vyzn'aries, we asked Valeria a few quick questions.
What motivated you to join vyzn?
"Coming from academia, I wanted the chance to keep innovating, but with a direct, fast impact on the industry. The building sector has huge untapped potential for improving sustainability and efficiency, and a platform like vyzn can directly unlock it. Working alongside such a smart, forward-looking and nice team made the decision easy."
What are you most looking forward to in the coming months?
"I like the duality of this role: driving the platform's development from the inside while working directly with clients, understanding what they actually need and helping shape where the product goes next. I'm looking forward to bringing my experience into both sides of it, and learning a lot along the way."
What unexpected skill or hobby are you bringing to vyzn?
"I'm a sports lover, from playing to watching on TV and especially live. Years of volleyball, and more recently tennis, taught me drive and discipline. But mostly they showed me that to win you need to score yourself, but also set up the best ball for your teammates. Those values have helped me a lot in life."
Scoring yourself and setting up the best ball for the team is a fair description of the job. Welcome, Valeria.
