The Niederscherli (Bern) development project is a development with a plot size of approx. 21,000 m² and 130 apartments featuring sustainable, future-oriented residential construction.

Challenge

  • Unclear which construction method achieves the best results in terms of CO2 emissions, thermal comfort, costs and thermal protection
  • The feasibility study should be detailed and holistic in order to identify the optimal project variant taking various aspects into account

  • 4x BIM/3D models evaluated with vyzn's AI
  • 37x project variants created & compared: several variants for masonry, ventilated masonry, reinforced concrete and timber
  • Automated calculation of CO2 emissions, energy performance, costs as well as dynamic simulation of summer thermal protection
  • Within 3 weeks (instead of several months), the best variant was chosen, which best fulfills the project goals
