Success Story: SENN — Project ALL
Emissions reduction and material optimization SENN relies on vyzn for sustainable planning
The new-build project ALL is located in the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel, on the same site as the already realized HORTUS project. It comprises a highly flexible office and laboratory building with around 20,500 m² of usable floor space. Planned by Herzog & de Meuron, the building meets radical sustainability standards.
Challenges
- High manual effort to remeasure and verify areas from the model
- Monitor various materials & components and their impact on the life cycle assessment during the planning phase
- Need for intuitive, standard-compliant software to obtain SNBS certification
Results
- 2x 3D/BIM models evaluated with vyzn's AI
- Reduction of emissions through the use of a lower-emission concrete recipe, which was created and directly analyzed in a new component in vyzn
- Automated calculation of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGE) and embodied energy, including the photovoltaic systems used with European modules
- Standard-compliant evaluations recognized in accordance with SNBS
- Efficient and sustainable planning process through early material choice and emissions monitoring
