The Niederscherli development project (Bern) is a real estate project covering approximately 21,000 m², featuring 130 apartments with sustainable, future-oriented residential construction.

• Uncertainty regarding which construction scenario yields the best results in terms of CO2 emissions, thermal comfort, costs and thermal insulation
• The feasibility study needs to be detailed and holistic to identify the optimal project scenario, considering various factors

• 22x components defined for exterior wall, roof, floor ceiling, staircase wall, apartment partition, etc.
• 37x project scenarios created & compared: multiple options for masonry, ventilated masonry, reinforced concrete and wood
• Automated calculation of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGE) according to SIA 2032, heating demand according to SIA 380/1, costs, and dynamic simulation of summer thermal protection according to SIA 180
• Identified the best scenario within 3 weeks (instead of several months), which best met the project goals
